WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT COMMUNICATION - HOW TO PROPERLY COMMUNICATE

Communication is speaking, listening, understanding and responding. It means exchanging information by speaking, writing or using other methods. It includes a sender, a message and a recipient.

When you communicate properly, you express love, you build others up, you will grow and be better. Good communication helps to remove burden, anger and misunderstanding.

If you are communicating and it promotes anger, then you are not communicating properly. Like I mentioned earlier, when one is communicating, there should be a speaker, a message and a receiver. When the recipient is not listening, responding or understanding your message, then you are not saying anything reasonable at all. If you're not communicating in a healthy way, disaster will arise.

When there is no open communication, the simple talks will become arguments then it becomes aggressive communication and later, it becomes toxic. No one can have a relationship when there's no communication.

There are a number of reasons why people have difficulty in communicating properly;

  • Assumptions
  • Busy lifestyles
  • Disrespect
  • Overfamiliarity
  • Temperament
  • Resentment from an interpersonal dispute
  • Personality differences
Bad communication can ruin a relationship. Learn to speak cautiously and sort out issues with kind words.

When trying to communicate, try to be sympathetic and cordial especially when settling a pending issue. You can even communicate by touching the recipient, it takes away animosity.

Always make a positive comment when communicating, speak with respect and love.

Watch your words or tone of voice to the recipient.

Be endearing.

Don't blame, criticize or belittle.

Learn not to control or manipulate.

Learn to communicate what you feel calm because whatever you do, you get. Love begets love and hate begets hate. Study people and speak according to that knowledge. Know when to speak and when to be quiet.

Remember this, whenever you open your mouth to speak, let your words be kind, edifying and with respect.
