10 MAKEUP HACKS/TRICKS FOR OILY SKIN

Do you have a problem with your oily skin?
Oily skin can be a problem sometimes, especially when you go out into the sun. It won't let you slay your makeup but at least you get to shine. If you have oily skin, then your t-zone area will be greasy most of the time, which is mainly the forehead, nose, and chin. The good thing about this is that you would hardly suffer from wrinkles or dryness of the skin. Rather, your face gets to feel youthful and glitzy. One simple way to manage excess oil on the face/skin is to use skincare products meant for your skin type. Just as you can't use gas for your car, the same way you can't use products meant for dry skin. It won't work. Therefore, when buying products for the skin, ensure it's meant for oily skin.

Below, are safe makeup tricks you can try;

1. Micellar water as a face cleanser. Before making up, it's ideal to thoroughly cleanse the face. Micellar water is gentle on the skin, removes dirt, hydrates and also mattifies the skin. It cleanses the skin while absorbing oil on the skin as well. It is the perfect substitute for makeup remover or face toner and suitable for all skin types. You can purchase at any pharmacy near you.

2. Use skincare products for oily skin. This cannot be overemphasized. Always search for matte makeup products like powder, foundation, and primer to help keep the oils at bay.

3. Use water-based moisturizers. No matter how oily your skin is, moisturizers are necessary to keep the skin hydrated. The natural water-based moisturizers I would recommend is Rosewater/oil, Jojoba oil, Coconut oil, Aloe-vera, Almond oil and Glycerin.

4. Use a face primer before makeup. This helps smoothen lines, hide pores and imperfections. I would recommend House of Tara silicone face primer.http://www.houseoftara.com/shop/?post_type=product&s=face+primer Silicone primers are great for sensitive and oily skin. It minimizes pores and ensures makeup adheres for a longer time.

5. Use an eye primer and lip primer if you don't want your eyeshadow or lipstick to move. An eye primer also intensifies the eye pigment while preventing it from shifting.http://www.houseoftara.com/shop/product-category/eyes/other-eye-products/eye-pencilsmascaras-primer/ If you don't have any of these, you can also use a foundation or concealer as a primer.http://www.houseoftara.com/shop/product-category/face/concealers/

6. Spritz on a setting spray to finish up the makeup so it stays put.http://www.houseoftara.com/shop/?post_type=product&s=setting+spray
An alternative is a translucent setting powder. Once you are done applying your makeup, use a fluffy brush and lightly dust the setting powder over your face. This trick will help mattify the face and will ensure the makeup stays longer.

7. You can also carry around blotting paper/sheets. Lightly press onto your face to help absorb oil. It wouldn't interfere with your makeup so don't worry.

8. You can also do without foundations. Foundations can be a bit heavy and greasy sometimes so just throw on some powder if you want something light.
Apply makeup products in light layers. Only add more to problem areas. Your makeup will last longer and not look cakey.

9. This hack is a bit tricky but it works. Apply primer, a thin layer of loose setting powder; concentrate on oily areas.
Then apply foundation and set face again with powder and setting spray.

10. If your nose is oilier, apply eyeshadow primer around your nose. It creates a matte base for the foundation.

TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE IN HAUSALAND - THE PROCESS AND RITES

The Hausa are one of the most congested ethnic groups in Africa. They are heterogeneous in nature but culturally homogeneous people. They reside mostly in the Northern part of the country known to them as ''Arewa'' which is translated as Northern Nigeria. They are primarily Muslims while few are Christians. Although a great number of people in this region speak the Hausa language, different tribes among them have their own unique dialects. The Hausa traditional marriage is not as time consuming or expensive like the Yoruba and Igbo traditional marriage rites. Unlike in other culture where you are allowed some kind of freedom with the opposite sex, a Hausa man and woman don't have such freedom and the only thing that will bring about sexual contact between them is marriage. The Na Gani Ina  is the first stage where the groom with his male friends and kinsmen visit the bride's family house to make their intention known. They also go along with gifts. The
