Its aggravating to have oil all over the face few minutes after makeup but then, its nature. My face used to secretesecrete a lot of oil until I tried this simple regimen.
First of all, oily skin isn't that bad. It results in to a dewy, youthful glow when following the proper regimen. I would still prefer my oily skin to a dry skin anyday, anytime. A skin that is overly dry makes you look old and wrinkled. Mind you, you can't completely get rid of the oil your skin excretes.
You can only control how much your skin produces by
- Using cleansers that contain salicylic acid. It exfoliates and eliminates acne while clearing the oil present in your pores. I love my cleanser; Neutrogena face wash. Its mild and really effective on my oily skin.
- Choose the right makeup for your skin type. Avoid heavy-looking foundations. Go for light foundations, matte or oil control products for your face. Its ideal to use powder over foundation if you have nothing to cover up.
- Before bed, always wash off your makeup. Then exfoliate or use a cleanser and toner meant for your skin type.
- Use water based products on your face like products containing glycerin. It protects you from skin problems.
Glycerin is great for oily skin because it cleanses and moisturizes without any side effects.
Oily skin also needs moisturizer to improve skin's hydration which is important for your skin's health. To also replenish what has been lost when you strip natural oils from your skin through cleansing.

- Oily skin reduces ageing by preventing wrinkles and fine lines. Dry skin tend to age faster than oily skin.
- Oily skin retains makeup for a longer period of time.

Let's talk about the glow from oily skin. In makeup, the highlights pop more when the face is oily or dewy.
Improvise with your oils. Turn it into a gorgeous dewy glow. A lot of girls need that dewy glow but you have it naturally.
When making up, you don't need much highlighter so it doesn't look too greasy after a while. Use little or no highlighter on your forehead and nose as it gets shiny quickly. Always spray on a facial mist after makeup to freshen the makeup and hydrate the face.
Use powder puffs or beauty blender rather than brush because it absorbs oil.
Use blotting sheets to remove oils later in the day.
